While in dental school, she spent time providing free dental care to migrant workers and their families as part of the Los Angeles Dental Mobile Clinic. Her volunteerism also extended to serving underprivileged individuals in Southern California and Mexico and participating in various dental mission trips to Guatemala through the Christian Medical Dental Association.
A few interesting facts about Dr. Lim are that she is originally from Palm Springs, CA, and she and her husband, Christian, tied the knot in 2020. Staying active is what she enjoys most, and it is evident because of her love for indoor climbing, kayaking, backpacking, and running. She is also a swimmer, having represented Singapore in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. She and her husband have two recently adopted puppies, Aspen and Willow, whom they love to spoil.
