But how much\nwill the procedure cost? The answer depends on a several different variables.\nHere are 4 things to keep in mind when figuring out the ultimate price of your\ndental crown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Material of Dental Crowns<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A dental crown can be made of several different materials\ndepending on your needs. Examples include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Gold crowns, which tend to be stronger and more\ndurable than other crowns but also tend to stand out in your smile.<\/li><li>All-porcelain crowns, which are the most\nnatural-looking replacements for front teeth and tend to be more popular for\npatients worried about appearances.<\/li><li>Porcelain fused to metal crowns, which combines\nthe strength of the metal with the aesthetics of the porcelain.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In general, porcelain fused to metal crowns tend to be the\nleast expensive while all-porcelain crowns tend to be more costly, and the\nprice of gold crowns will usually be somewhere in between. Of course, prices\nvary, so you should check with your dentist first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. The Treatment Before You Receive Your Crown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In many cases, you might receive a crown as part of another\ntreatment; as such, the price of the other procedure will need to be considered.\nMost of the time, crowns are placed after you receive root canal treatment (to\nprotect the remaining tooth structure) or dental implants (to serve as the actual\nreplacement tooth while the implants act as roots). Furthermore, any\nconsultation you have regarding tooth repair is likely to have its own cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Dental Insurance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are getting a crown as a restorative procedure, there\nis a good chance that your dental insurance will help you pay for it. Most\nplans are willing to provide up to 50% coverage of major procedures like crown\nplacement (although you should confirm your benefits beforehand). Of course,\nyou also need to consider your plan\u2019s annual maximum and deductible, as that\ncould potentially affect the amount your pay out of pocket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. The Need for Replacements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A dental crown won\u2019t last forever; sooner or later, it needs\nto be replaced with a new one. The lifespan of a crown will depend on how well\nyou take care of it. This is something to consider when determining the\nultimate cost of a dental crown procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember that in many cases, getting a dental crown is\nnecessary to protect your damaged tooth as well as your overall oral health.
